Getting There

Flying in to Auckland

Auckland Airport is a major airline hub in New Zealand and there are many domestic and international destinations for visitors to continue on to. Auckland Airport handles more than 75 per cent of all international arrivals into New Zealand.

Auckland is only a 3–3.5 hour flight from the eastern seaboard of Australia direct to Auckland. Auckland is easily accessible from Australia with the
following airlines; Air New Zealand, Emirates, Virgin Australia, Singapore Airlines, Qantas, Jetstar and China Airlines. Total of 267 flights from Australia to Auckland every week.

Airport Transfers

Auckland Airport is only 30–45 minutes by taxi to the conference venue, Grand Millennium Auckland.  There is a number of buses, shuttle, taxi and rideshare services that can pick you up from the terminal forecourts.

SkyDrive

SkyDrive (operated by Ritchies Transport) offers an express shuttle service between Auckland Airport and SkyCity in Central Auckland.

The first bus leaves the SkyCity bus terminal at 5.00am, direct to the airport. Buses run every 30 minutes with the last bus from the domestic terminal at 22.30pm. Buses leave from bus stop A at the domestic terminal. Tickets may be purchased directly from the bus driver (card payment only), or via the SkyDrive website at skydrive.co.nz.

Rental Cars

The Auckland Airport licensed companies are conveniently located at the terminal buildings or in the surrounding area.

Licensed rental car services at terminal buildings
At the international terminal rental car services have been temporarily relocated at the rental car pick up zone, please exit via door 8 and follow the signs for Rental cars, it is a 5–7-minute covered walk. The rental car offices are on the left-hand side of the building.

Domestic travellers can find rental car operators on the ground floor of the multi-level car park building, directly opposite the domestic terminal forecourt.

Rental car companies include Avis Rental Cars, Budget Rental Cars, Europcar, Ezi Car Rentals, Hertz Rental Cars and Thrifty.

Taxis and shuttles

All taxi and shuttle companies are able to drop you off at the airport, however only licensed companies are able to pick you up from the designated taxi ranks at the terminal buildings.

Taxi and shuttle ranks are located outside the arrivals area (door 8) at the international terminal and outside door 4 at the domestic terminal. You can pre-book with one of the companies listed below or just turn up at the terminal ranks – taxis and shuttles are always available.

Indicative fares from the airport into the city is between NZ$38 – NZ$90 one-way for a taxi and shuttles ($35 for one person plus $8 for each extra person together in the same group). For specific fare pricing, contact the taxi and shuttle companies directly.

Auckland Airport charges $5 per pick up and $3 per drop off, inclusive in the fixed fare rate.

Public Transport

The Auckland Transport website is where you’ll find everything you need to know about getting around Auckland on buses, trains and ferries.

Use the Auckland Transport online journey planner to make every trip easy. The journey planner will advise what routes are available, and provide times, fares and maps for your trips. Bus, train and ferry information is also available by phoning the Auckland Transport contact centre on +64 9 366 6400.

You will need an AT HOP card to on Auckland public transport.

Australasian Polymer Symposium (APS) The Polymer Division of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) has a long-standing history of organising the Australasian Polymer Symposium (APS) conferences.

The APS has a long established tradition of bringing together the polymer science and engineering communities of Australasia as well as esteemed polymer colleagues from around the world; from the current world-leaders in polymer research to academics, researchers, research students and industrial professionals from universities, research organisations and the polymer industry globally

The APS also serves as an opportunity for national and international networking through an exciting forum of both formal presentations as well as informal idea exchanges in order to contribute towards the development of frontier polymer research.
